Equipment Use Policy

Equipment owned by the Starke County Public Library System is lent by the library as part of its community service.  In the use of the equipment, library functions will take precedence over all others.

Who May Borrow Equipment

Equipment may be borrowed by any community group or business.

Equipment may not be borrowed for social functions.

Reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis except that they may not be made more than one year in advance.

Reservations will not be accepted for multiple use dates.  Only one date may be reserved at a time, and that date must be cleared before another reservation will be accepted.

Equipment Use Rules

The loan period for equipment is twenty-four hours.  Extensions may be granted, as needed, subject to availability.  A definite date of return must be set not to exceed seven days.  Due to heavy use, extensions will not be granted for the video projector.

Equipment must be checked out and returned during regular library business hours.

The person checking out the equipment must be an adult (18 years or older), show a resident library card, and provide a current phone number where he/she can be reached during the loan period.

The borrower must sign a form assuming responsibility for the correct use and safe return of the equipment.

The library reserves the right to revoke equipment loaning privileges to anyone who has not met the conditions stated in this policy.
