What This River Keeps: Making Art Out of a Hoosier Childhood!

Event Description: 

Our library has been given a special grant from Novel Conversations to bring a winner in the Emerging Writer category for the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award, Greg Schwipps, to our community. He will share with us his first novel, What This River Keeps. Greg will read an excerpt or two from the novel, talk about his writing process and childhood, experiences on the farm where he was raised in Milan, Indiana, etc. He now lives in Morgan County, Indiana, and makes use of his childhood and Indiana's rivers and woodlots in his work.  He will discuss his novel, writing process, and how he attempts to make art out of life. “What This River Keeps” is a fictionalized account of what happens to one family when they lose their river bottom farm to the government so a reservoir can be built.  To learn more about him go to www.gregschwipps.com He will bring copies of his $22 book for a signing.
