Tour Indiana's Carnegie Libraries

Event Description:

Presented by Alan McPherson, MLS Indiana University, author of Temple of Knowledge: Andrew Carnegie's Gift to Indiana. Hoosiers are proud their state had the greatest number of Andrew Carnegie funded library buildings of any in the country. You are invited to take a visual and verbal tour of Indiana’s Carnegie libraries, and learn why our state had the greatest number of these intellectual institutions.  Alan has visited, photographed and gathered the history of Indiana’s Carnegie libraries for all to enjoy. His book may be available to purchase. SCPLS will treat you to homemade chocolate chip cookies when you attend this program during Library Week because you “matter to us.” Please sign up by 4-15-13 at 574-772-7323 so we know how many goodies to plan on.
