Racing through Indiana: an Auto Racing Expose

Event Description:

Ron Verash will give an Auto Racing expose at Starke County Public Library. The talk will include area racing, the history of Auto Racing in Indiana, and the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400's. Photos and memorabilia are included, as well as history on drivers such as Bob Newton from Hoosier Tire fame and Knox driver Buck Cravens. Patrons are invited to head over after the presentation to the Plymouth Speedway for the first ever Dirt Sprint Car event on the 3/8 mile oval. Several actual Race Cars will be on display outside the Library for patrons to see the cars up close, and even sit in the driver's seat.  Mr. Verash has many years experience in racing, having written for MARC Times Racing News, organizing the area race track Old Timer Events, and hosting the site www.stockcarextreme.com.
