Money Smart Week is April 21-27, 2012. Money Smart Week began as a coordinated effort of the Money Smart Advisory Council, a diverse group of more than 40 Chicago-area organizations working together to promote personal financial literacy. Its goal is to have focused presentations in community groups, by financial institutions, government agencies, educational organizations, and financial experts, all designed to help consumers learn to better manage their personal finances.
The Money Smart Week model has grown beyond Chicago with successful campaigns taking place in all five states within the Seventh District (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin) and new cities joining every year. Starke County Public Library is offering these services to you each year not only during Money Smart Week but in various adult programs.
This year’s Money Smart Week’s discussion will be led by Casey Allen, owner of Key Financial which has budget and bill pay services. During the session, we will step through setting up a personal budget, discuss questions to consider when creating a financial plan, and talk about tips and tricks on personal financial awareness. Choose which time will fit in your schedule the best and sign up by 4/23/12.
