An Educator’s card is available to verified teachers and home school parents.
A letter of employment or a school identification tag will serve as proof of eligibility for teachers for the current school year.
Home school parents will need to show their school number card issued by the Indiana Department of Education.
Individuals who apply for an Educator Card may also apply for a separate card for personal use.
Educator Cards can only be used for curriculum-related materials, not for personal reading or viewing interests. The library reserves the right to withdraw this privilege if abused by the individual.
Up to 30 items may be checked out at one time.
Books have a six-week loan period and may not be renewed.
Regular library loan periods, fees, and rules will apply to all other materials.
The number of items checked out from certain subject areas may be limited at the Library's discretion due to high demand.
Holds can be placed with an Educator Card for curriculum-related materials only. These holds will be handled in the same manner as with a personal card.
Educator cards are issued for one year and expire on August 15th of each year. The card will be renewed if the individual provides proof of teaching assignment for the new school year and has paid all fines and fees.
A charge of $5.00 or more will block an Educator Card and prevent the individual from checking out additional materials on that card.
If there are more than 10 overdue items on the card, the individual may not check out additional materials on the card.
The signature on the back of the Educator Card means that the individual who signed it accepts financial responsibility for all fines and charges for lost and damaged items.
