From Book to Screen: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

From Book to Screen will be reading Philip K. Dick’s dystopian science fiction novel "Do Android’s Dream of Electric Sheep?", adapted into the 1982 cult classic movie "Blade Runner", starring Harrison Ford, Sean Young, and Rutger Hauer. The film is Rated R.

Rick Deckard is a Blade Runner, a bounty hunter assigned to putting down rogue androids who escape into society and cause havoc among the populace. Asking the question of when does the line blur between being human and becoming a machine, Dick’s novel illustrates this issue through his complicated characters and noir drama plot. Juxtaposing human characters with their android counterparts, sworn enemies, the ambiguity of good and evil skews to thought provoking events.

Adapted into the crime noir science fiction drama Blade Runner, From Book to Screen will take a look at the major themes and issues discussed in Dick’s classic work.

Join us April 26, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m for this movie screening.
