From Book to Screen: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Saturday, April 26, 2014 - 2:00pm to 5:00pm

From Book to Screen will be reading Philip K. Dick’s dystopian science fiction novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?", adapted into the 1982 cult classic movie "Blade Runner", starring Harrison Ford, Sean Young, and Rutger Hauer. The film is rated R.

Rick Deckard is a Blade Runner, a bounty hunter assigned to putting down rogue androids who escape into society and cause havoc among the populace. Asking the question of when does the line blur between being human and becoming a machine, Dick’s novel illustrates this issue through his complicated characters and noir drama plot. Juxtaposing human characters with their android counterparts, sworn enemies, the ambiguity of good and evil skews to thought-provoking events.

Join us Saturday, April 26th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m for this movie screening.
