Among the many services and materials available at the Starke County Public Library, one of the most popular have been paintings for checkout to patrons of the county. With the recent construction and reorganization of resources, the Library has decided to auction off part of its painting collection to the general public. Starke County Public Library would like to invite all residents to participate in this auction. Proceeds will be used to fund Summer Reading Programs for Summer 2014, for all Branches.
Tuesday, December 17, the Henry F. Schricker Library will host a silent auction in the meeting room from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The paintings range from still lifes and scenery to portraits. Patrons are welcome to come into the library and bid on the paintings they desire. Bidders are asked to leave their name, phone number, and bid. At the end of the auction, those with the highest bid will be notified of their winning and asked to pick it up at their earliest convenience.
