Summer Reading Bingo

SCPL is ready to kick off the 2013 Summer Reading Program for the summer!  SRP 2013 is from Monday, June 3 until Saturday, July 27. We’re whipping up some summer fun with a Summer Reading Bingo card that you can fill out with the books that you’ve read. Our SRP 2013 mascot is Sally Squid, who will be making various appearances during the program around the library and sharing them on Facebook.

To participate in SRP 2013, pick up a form from any branch in the Starke County Library System to receive your bingo card. Just fill in a square with the title of the book you read. The minimum number of books for the program is five to qualify for prizes and a grand prize drawing at the end of the summer.

When you finish Summer Reading Bingo, you will have your choice of one of two gifts:

1. $5.00 certificate toward fine forgiveness. You can use it all at one time or throughout the year. You must keep track of the coupon as we cannot.

Or

2. You will be first on the holds list for the book of your choice.

Along with one of these two choices, your name will be entered into a grand prize drawing, which includes a giveaway of our summer mascot, a stuffed replica of Sally Squid, as well as many other prizes from area businesses.

Homebound Delivery Service

We are starting an outreach program for Starke County Library patrons who are unable to come into the library due to extended illness, injury or disability. At this time we are limiting delivery to within the city limits of Knox. All items except fiction dvds are available with the service. Deliveries and pickups will be every two weeks. The requested items will be delivered in a red and white cloth bag with library logo on and an inventory sheet showing what is being delivered.  The patron will sign the sheet after making sure all items are there. The inventory sheet will stay with the bag and be signed again at time of pick up.

In order to participate, one needs to fill out a short form and talk with either Mary Wharton or Nancy Barton.  For further information you may call the library at 574-772-7323 and ask for either Nancy or Mary, or stop by and talk with one of us.

  • Over 60 magazines are available.  Check out as many as you like – no limits.
  • No check out period – no late fees!  Keep the magazines as long as you wish.
  • Digital Magazines are full-print, full-color (including advertisements) - exactly like the print magazine, with bonus interactive elements in many magazines.
